‘Real Slim Shady’ from the album ‘ Marshall Mathers LP’ brought Eminem even further into the spotlight many expected him to fade from. A more reflective, mature and at peace with life Eminem appears on MMLP2 and in headlights in particular.įor this place in my list we go back to 1999 when Eminem first hit the big time, Role Model is again not the deepest of songs but it did introduce Eminem as Slim Shady to the world, along with other songs like ‘ I’m shady’ and ‘ My Name is’. Role Model is a classic song that is associated with the Slim Shady years and comes in at 28 on my list.Īt number 27 its one of my favourite all time Eminem songs and one of the weirdest but funniest music videos you will ever see, ‘Just don’t give a fuck’ Is a witty diss song that to me has stood the test of time and is still as fresh and relevant 14 years after its initial release.Īfter the success of his 99′ album ‘ Slim Shady LP’ most people thought Eminem would fade from the limelight, many said he would never top the song ‘My name is’ after it gained huge commercial success, so this new record perhaps was the first of many times Eminem would prove people wrong. As always Em tackles the issues in his life head on in a song about his mother 11 years after the famous song ‘ cleaning out my closet’ In which he publicly slates his mother. Perhaps not the greatest Eminem song of all time but one with a beautiful story line. From the album (MMLP2) Berzerk has a strong Hip-Hop feel, a song inspired by Hip-Hop for Hip-Hop fans, you have to stop and appreciate how such a modern song can act as a musical time machine. Now if you’ve listened to Berzerk and indeed watched the music video then you know that its beautifully old fashioned for a song of its time. Define beautiful? Well some of these songs may be beautiful in the obvious sense of the word with emotional lyrics and some may just have a great story line or be beautifully witty and entertaining.
Being that I am a massive fan of Eminem, this list came pretty naturally, I decided to be a little different and instead of placing them in order of what songs I thought were the best I placed them in order of how Beautiful they are from an artistic point of view.
